Prior to foundingLinseand LevitateCapitalin 2015, Michael was a partner atKleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB)for seven yearsfrom 2009 to 2015wherehe invested in growth businesses like ChargePoint, Proterra,uShip,Telogis,Inrix,Friedola,Hyla,UpWind,and Redaptive. Before joiningKPCB, Michael worked at Goldman Sachsfrom 1997 to 2009,mostrecently astheManagingDirector of Goldman Sachs’ alternative energy investingteam within theLondon-basedEuropeanSpecial Situations Group where heledover20 investments includingNordex, CMP,andIFCO Systems.
Michael joined Goldman Sachs asan analyst intheFinancial Institutions Groupin1997 and workedinFrankfurtin 1997 and 1998andinHong Kongin 1999. Michael earned a B.A. degree in economics from Harvard Universityin 1997and anM. B.A. from Harvard Business Schoolin 2002.
